Peter Oborn will describe how the practice came to develop its research and development capability together with some of the work it produced. He will also describe the role of research at the RIBA together with the importance of innovation and evidence based design to practitioners and policy makers alike, and will share some of his more recent experiences in the Middle East.” At Aedas he was the Director responsible for the £200m CTBUH award winning Al Bahr Towers in Abu Dhabi. Peter also founded the Aedas Research & Development group based in London, which developed specialisms in sustainability, advanced modelling and computational design. The award-winning R&D group helped to drive innovation throughout the practice, enabling new ways of problem solving and design.
